Another cohort of Skilling Queenslanders for Work trainees has graduated into full-time employment, proving that paid, hands-on training changes lives in Ipswich.

There is a particular kind of pride that comes from watching a young person who once doubted their future walk into a full-time job with a trade pathway and their head held high. This month, we celebrated another group of Skilling Queenslanders for Work trainees doing exactly that.

Our traineeships are fully paid, six-month, government-funded vocational pathways for disadvantaged youth and job seekers in Ipswich and West Moreton. Trainees earn nationally recognised certificates in construction, conservation, and hospitality while gaining real, hands-on experience on actual community builds and operations.

This cohort's graduates have stepped into roles across construction, land care, and hospitality. Each one leaves with a reference, a qualification, and the confidence that comes from earned accomplishment. Several have been employed directly within the Goodness group of enterprises, while others have been welcomed by local employers who see the value of training that combines real skills with pastoral care.

This is the impact engine in action: give, train, empower. We do not just hand out qualifications. We walk alongside people, build their skills and their confidence, and connect them to meaningful work that can sustain a life and a family.

With the next round of Skilling Queenslanders for Work funding open, we are already preparing to welcome a new intake. If you or someone you know is looking for a genuine pathway into work, our doors are open. And if you are a local employer looking for trained, motivated, work-ready people, we would love to connect you with our graduates.
