As Queensland's housing crisis deepens, Goodness Enterprises is addressing community needs through food relief, essential amenities, and future transitional housing plans.
The housing crisis is not an abstract headline in Ipswich — it is a family sleeping in a car, a young person couch-surfing with no stability, a pensioner priced out of the rental market. With Queensland facing a severe housing supply gap, the human cost is visible on our streets every day.
Goodness Enterprises is actively responding. As part of our strategic roadmap, we are planning a transitional housing village to provide short-term crisis accommodation for vulnerable families in the Ipswich region. The village will offer a safe, supported stepping stone for people who have nowhere else to turn, paired with the wrap-around care — food, training, pastoral support — that helps people rebuild a stable life.
This planned work sits alongside the shower facilities slated for the GiveGoodness Centre, which will restore basic dignity and hygiene access for people experiencing homelessness. Together, these projects form a practical, compassionate response to a crisis that demands more than words.
We are also cooperating with Ipswich City Council to realign zoning designations across our Coal Road properties and investing in physical buffers that allow community and residential uses to coexist safely.
No single organisation can solve the housing crisis alone. But by planning transitional housing, providing food relief, creating training pathways, and offering genuine care, Goodness Enterprises is doing its part to ensure that no one in our region faces a crisis alone.
